Avoiding Pronoun Shifts

A pronoun and its antecedent must agree in person (first, second, or third), number (singular or plural), and gender (masculine, feminine, or neuter). Avoid pronoun shifts.

Incorrect: Izaak listens to music on their laptop.

       (Izaak is singular, but their is plural.)

Correct: Izaak listens to music on his laptop.
